Today we celebrate the countless holy men and women who have gone before us, and entered into eternity with the Lord. The saints inspire us through lives of faith, courage, and love, and ultimately through the ways they show us what it looks like to allow God to rescue us from the horrors of sin and death. May their examples lead us closer to Christ, and may we follow their footsteps in spreading His light. Saints of God, pray for us!
If you didn't join us for last night's vigil Mass, please join us for our celebration of Mass for the Solemnity of All Saints this afternoon at 12:10 p.m. or at 7:00 p.m. (in Vietnamese). Don't miss this holy day of obligation!
Take a look at this week's newsletter for more details on these liturgies and other important updates!

The Cathedral Choir sings Gabriel Fauré’s radiant Requiem, accompanied by a chamber ensemble, to commemorate the faithful departed. At this Mass, we remember and pray for loved ones who have entered eternal life. As is our annual custom, we will inter in the mausoleum the unclaimed remains of three local, unhoused people who died within the last year. Please join us for this moving and meaningful liturgy.
You may be aware that last year, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland (the Diocese) made the difficult but necessary decision to seek bankruptcy protection. The bankruptcy court deadline is November 8, 2024. With this deadline in mind, we encourage you to pray for our diocese, survivors of abuse, and all affected by these proceedings. As a parish community, we commit to praying for these intentions, especially leading up to and on November 8.
O God, who in each pilgrim Church throughout the world make visible the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church, graciously grant that your faithful may be so united to their shepherd and gathered together in the Holy Spirit through the Gospel and the Eucharist, as to worthily embody the universality of your people and become a sign and instrument in the world of the presence of Christ. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
For the intentions of Bishop Barber, Our Father – Hail Mary – Glory be
