Memorial Mass for Pope Francis

"Together with the whole Church we in the Diocese of Oakland mourn the passing of our Holy Father Pope Francis. He was unique among popes: One of a kind. He will be forever known as 'The Pope of Mercy.' He called for a 'Holy Year of Mercy' in 2016 which inspired an outpouring of charitable works and led to the reconciliation of thousands of Catholics with the Lord. May Pope Francis rest in peace. And may the angels lead him into paradise."

All are welcome to join our Oakland Diocese Memorial Mass for Pope Francis which will be held on Saturday evening, April 26 at 5:00 p.m. in the Cathedral of Christ the Light, celebrated by The Most Rev. Michael C. Barber, S.J.

"Junto con toda la Iglesia, en la Diócesis de Oakland lamentamos el fallecimiento de nuestro Santo Padre, el Papa Francisco. Fue un Papa único: Único en su clase. Será recordado por siempre como el 'Papa de la Misericordia'. Convocó un 'Año Santo de la Misericordia' en 2016, que inspiró una gran cantidad de obras de caridad y condujo a la reconciliación de miles de católicos con el Señor. Que el Papa Francisco descanse en paz. Y que los ángeles lo conduzcan al paraíso.
