The Holy Oils (Sacred Chrism, Oil of Catechumens, Oil of the Sick) for the entire Diocese will be blessed by Bishop Barber during the Chrism Mass on April 2, 2020. Attendance at this Mass remains by invitation only and is NOT open to the public. The Chrism Mass will be livestreamed through the Cathedral Facebook Page.
The Holy Oils will be available for pickup by parish representatives on Friday, April 3, 2020 between 10 AM and 3 PM in the Cathedral Event Center. Parking at the Cathedral lot will be free of charge for those retrieving their parish's Holy Oils.

The Chrism Mass will still be celebrated in the Cathedral as scheduled on April 2, 2020 at 7pm. However, in light of the shelter-in-place order in effect for the Bay Area, the Chrism Mass will NOT be open to the public. The Bishop will invite select priests to concelebrate the Chrism Mass. Invitations are forthcoming from the Office of the Bishop.

The Chrism Mass will be livestreamed through the Cathedral of Christ the Light’s Facebook page (facebook.com/ctlcathedral.org).
The Day of Recollection for priests, including the associated dinner and Holy Hour, are also canceled.
All parishes are asked to maintain their existing stock of Holy Oils. More information on the distribution of new oils is forthcoming.
