Tours of The Cathedral of Christ the Light
Purchase your guidebook at the Cathedral Shop and you are on your way. For a nominal fee, this self-guided Short Tour explains in detail the highlights of the Cathedral, the artwork and the grounds. Determine your own pace as you guide yourself along this easy-to-follow path of discovery.
Daily Guided Tours
Free guided tours of the Cathedral, for individuals or small groups (8 people or less), are available daily. Join our friendly, knowledgeable docent ministry volunteers for an informative tour of the Cathedral and grounds.
Please meet your guide outside the Great Doors of the Cathedral 15 minutes prior to tour departure.

Conroy Memorial Organ Demonstration
On every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, a brief demonstration of the Conroy Memorial Organ will take place at 1:00 pm as part of the docent-led tour. Join the Cathedral's organist, Dr. Rudy de Vos, as he briefly talks about this magnificent instrument and demonstrates some of the different sounds from its 5,298 pipes.
Scheduled Group Tours
For a group of 10 or more, please click on the link below to make a reservation for a group tour led by cathedral docents. Tours last approximately 60 - 90 minutes and include a marvelous introduction to the art, history, architecture and beauty of the Cathedral and grounds. Group Tour time slots are Monday through Friday in the morning, at 9:00 am and 10:30 am, in the afternoon at 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm. There are no weekend tours at this time because of weddings, the weekend mass schedule and additional special events. Group tours are presently available by reservation only, at the rate of $5.00 per person with a $50.00 minimum per group. Diocese of Oakland -parishes, schools and other church-related groups will be given group tours at no charge.

Tour Reservation Request Form
School group tours are scheduled using the tour reservation form above with specially trained docents to lead. The tour is more interactive and designed as a dialogue between the students and docent. It is suggested to view the video tour of the Cathedral on the Learning Resources page on the Cathedral web site in preparation for the tour.
Following the tour the school groups normally attend the 12:10 pm Cathedral Parish Mass, followed by lunch on the Plaza green. For more information, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
