Golden Anniversary Jubilee Mass

The 50th Anniversary Jubilee Mass at the Cathedral on August 22 was a joyous occasion.  All 84 parishes were well represented and the parish banner procession was a highlight.  The Mass was concelebrated by Bishop Emeritus Cummins, Archbishop Vigneron and Archbishop-designate Cordileone.  At the reception after Mass a flash mob of 50+ students from Moreau Catholic High School broke out with a stirring dance that delighted the crowd on the Plaza.  A podcast of Archbishop Vigneron’s homily is available here.

Wedding Anniversary Mass, October 21

As part of the Diocese of Oakland's 50th anniversary celebration, over 150 couples -  cumulatively representing over 6700 years of marriage - renewed their wedding vows at the Cathedral of Christ the Light on Sunday, October 21.   More than 40 of the couples were celebrating 50 years or more of marriage, and a total of nearly 800 people were in attendance.  The organizers hope to make this an annual event.  See photos of honored couples here.
