- WELCOME TO THE CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE LIGHT
-
Welcome to the Cathedral of Christ the Light. This cathedral was built for the greater glory and honor of God so that all people may experience the gracious and loving embrace of God. It is a spiritual font that inspires and unites our richly diverse diocese in its mission to sanctify, educate and serve.
Whenever I enter the cathedral, I find myself drawn beyond the worries and distractions of the day into the majestic, yet serene, presence of Christ whose compassion and peace lift up my spirit.
As a community of faith, through our witness to Christ, we endeavor to be a place of welcome and inclusivity, embracing the diversity of faiths, peoples and cultures that enrich our community. We strive to be a vibrant sign of God’s presence for our neighbors in the City of Oakland and all the cities and regions that surround it.
May your visit to the Cathedral of Christ the Light draw you more deeply into the radiance of God’s light as you experience the wonders of his love.
Reverend Raymond Sacca
Rector
